How To Help
Join our Long-Term Recovery Organization (LTRO) – we meet quarterly unless we are recovering from a disaster and will meet as necessary during the crisis period. This a collaborative and interactive forum to unite recovery resources with community needs to ensure that even the most vulnerable in our community can recover from disaster.
Disasters Begin and End Locally:
Donate directly to the LTRO fund: create an instant ability to respond to the immediate needs created by a disaster! The localized nature of disaster preparedness and recovery is essential for effective and efficient management of disasters. It can take several days for assistance to arrive in the aftermath of a devastating disaster. The LTRO can start its work immediately upon safe return to the disaster area. It leverages local knowledge, resources, and relationships to respond quickly and sustain long-term recovery and resilience. Long after state, national and philanthropic funding has left the area, the LTRO is at work with survivors whose needs are still unmet. Our local resources fill that gap.
